There’s more choice than you might expect
The right table depends on the day you’ve had
The nice thing about eating in Selong Belanak now is that dinner no longer feels like a choice between the hotel and a single warung. You can have bakso by the road, pizza in the village, a vegan bowl after surfing or a long dinner beside the sea.
At the top end, Boni Beach and Codium are the two restaurants worth building an evening around. Boni Beach pairs polished modern Indonesian and Sasak cooking with a rooftop cocktail programme and sunset views. Codium takes a more chef-led route, with Mediterranean inspiration, open-fire cooking and a serious wine list by the beach at Tampah.
That does not make every other meal a ranking exercise. A sandy-footed lunch at Laut Biru, pizza at Pronto and a simple warung dinner can be exactly right on a different day. Use this guide by mood, appetite and setting.
